Re: Lets see the wizards prove this wrong

My friend, there are much easier ways to scam people than conceptualizing a game and rendering videos of its non-existent engine.

Re: Critically injured = Blood trail

You're right! I didn't notice that.
I wonder if it's just aesthetic or if will have an effect on the game?

I Guess, we'll find out.

Critically injured = Blood trail

Perhaps if you are at really low health there can be some sort of effect. An idea could be that you leave a trail of blood (easily implementable because of the gas pouring mechanic) that spills from you every couple of moments as you move. This could attract (certain) monsters if they are close by w...

Re: Fire effects on inventory

Agreed Gustaw, it is hardcore. Nethack is very unforgiving. Maybe to not make it game breaking there could be a grace period of the first few seconds your on fire then your items begin to be in danger. I don't know how code works but maybe some kind of probability based on strength of fire damage X ...

Fire effects on inventory

It's fun to throw ideas around but usually it comes down to how long will it take to code. In Nethack (an old roguelike game from late eighties) when your character is hit by any fire spell or is set on fire somehow this effects his inventory. If the character has potions on him there is a chance th...

Re: Ideas for interesting monsters

Here's another idea: This may not mesh with the storyline that Acid Wizards have cooked up but who knows. Souls of the Tank Crew In the pictures you encounter a destroyed tank. Maybe the souls of the dead crew lurk within in a radius around it, unable to travel beyond it. Their souls trapped in this...

Re: Ideas for interesting monsters

Weeping Angel Edit The more I think about it a monster that endlessly chases you may not be that fun in the end. There is a mod where you fight weeping angels and the mechanic is cool and could translate well to Darkwood. Basically wherever your not looking the monster teleports there. In this way ...

Re: Ideas for interesting monsters

Weeping Angel The weeping angel style monster is great for this style of game. The idea of a monster that is activated when your FOV hits it is scary! Maybe when you see one of these monsters it locks onto your position. Whenever your FOV is not aimed in the direction of the creature it slowly move...

Re: Ideas for interesting monsters

Thanks for posting the sanity Q & A Zero!

I'm glad they are making the sanity system a more mysterious one as opposed to a straight up mental HP system.
It's also good for us contributing ideas that are relevant to the dev's, knowing along the lines of how the mechanics will work.

Re: Darkwood Indiegogo campaign is over!

Happy to see that a stretch goal was met (+$).
As others have said, you guys have a really great idea and attitude towards this genre.
Good luck on the code slog ahead!
