I think this may have been part of a glitch in the previous version. Try searching in the doctor's bed in the train carriage, last time i checked the key was hidden there.

Maybe AI should scale with type of biome, or character level, or value of loot you are carrying on your person? For example, the deeper you are in Darkwood, the higher your level or the more valuable items you are carrying equates to a more aggressive AI. This just gave me an idea, what about a mons...

Just bought this tonight. There's your problem, you haven't given the game enough time. This game has a steep learning curve and you should expect to die quite a bit before you get to grips with what you should be doing. This games premise was built on being difficult so it wouldn't make much sense...

Molotovs are easy to make and use cheap ingredients. Couple that with some well-placed bear traps and a plank with nails and you're set for the rest of the meadow. Never used broken glass though since i assume it would do much damage, I could be wrong however
