Tbh shadows have never been an issue for me. I figured out there's a spot in the hideout where you can push a lamp, stool, and wardrobe against the wall. Maybe there could even be an NPC who sells various cloth products and you can buy the curtains directly from him if your workbench isn't capable of making them yourself
