Just a thought, but why not use Steam's opt-in beta feature? Sunless Sea did this for their major combat rework, and it went pretty smoothly. They announced how to activate the beta (of a game in beta...). Those that wanted to test it, did. Those that wanted to keep rolling with their current games, didn't.

I can get though why you might not want that build out in the wild. But it might make your lives easier.

I'm tempted to send in an application, mostly because I have no life other than that on Darkwood. What are your requirements for testers?
