Making a localizations is not so easy thing for developers as you may think.
Not only the text should be translated but textures and videos too.
+ There are may be unique bugs in build with your translation which require some time and dedication from dev. team.
+ 3 Pisanka fonts and probably some other aren't supporting specific brazilian glyphs.

Russian localization was living as unofficial mod for atleast a year before it made it's way into the game. And still it was hard to implement without any problems.

That thing about "Wooden Door" happens because in UI.txt there are separate strings for "Wooden" and "Door". They merged together in game. Same with "Metal" doors too.
