craftable weapon addons

Post by zuriumob » Sun Aug 24, 2014 7:58 pm

i was looking at my double barreled shotty and wondered... why doesnt he just rope the torch to the damned thing?, and thats how this idea surfaced, youd have a button that would turn on and off the flashlight and when it ran out itd change the batteries instead. still im sure theres a lot more stuff that could be done, im just not that imaginative.:>

I would like a dedicated flashlight button as well. As long as the flashlight is in the hotbar then it works.

Well this makes the Lantern more useless than it already is. I feel like weapon mods should always stay in the homebrew style because stuff like IR scopes and nonsense like that is too far-fetched.

Bayonets made from glass would be cool as an additional attack for ranged weapons.

... i mean , roping a flashlight to a gun is no rocket science, also you wouldnt be able to rope a flashlight to an axe for obvious reasons so you coulduse the lantern in that case

At the very least they should do 2 things.
1) Make it so the lanterns are refillable
2) Make it so there are different grades of lanterns like there are for flashlights.

I like the idea, but it has to be considerably balanced and/or limit to what it can do. Duct tape on a shotgun would just be easy mode through and through. If it were implemented, I think it should have drawbacks much like the perks do.

IE: Weights added to the Axe (gives more damage but slower prept-time per swing).

well, im not saying they change weapons, just that you should be able to rope this thing to it, so if you run out of ammo, you essentially have a glorified flashlight, drawbacks would be the same as with guns, so when they get balanced out so would the combo, also reloading would aim downwards or away from your fiel of view, that too would balance it.

Mod on Melee weapon = slower swinging, shorter swing and longer windup time.

Mod on Ranged weapon = longer reloading times, shorter range, fewer bullets, slower aiming time, wider min aiming area.

Make it a give and take system. Get one thing loose out on another.

First thought on this = triple barrel shotgun.

i didnt mean like full-weaponsmith-grade addons, you realistically arent going to be able to make a laser sight out of twigs and a nightvision from mud circuits, or for that case make a tree barreled gun without blowing a few fingers firing it the first time, i meant like mundane and logical from anyones point of view, like taping/roping a flashlight, ading a rope to a rifle so it goes on a especial holding space separate from your hotbar(numered one upwards from your current max hotbar space), or sawing off extra lengt of the single shotty to have a more powerfull/less range effective single shotgun (that would reload faster and not be as hidden has the two barreled), thats what im going at, not super crazy stuff
